I understand that disabling fast travel is supposed to make the game feel more adventurous, but it honestly has the oppose effect on me where I am reluctant to leave Ark because I want to be actually doing things instead of spending an hour navigating the ridiculously mountainous terrains to do a quest. I liked it far better in Skyrim where I could just teleport too and do whatever I wanted.I just spent over an hour navigating the overworld and jumping around miuntains for a single quest and I still haven't finished it.
I don't think I will play this any further if that is what I have to deal with. Heh, you sound like me back when I started enderal. I cannot guarantee the concept will become more appealing over time, but I can say that it changed for me when I started becoming more familiar with everything. Complete the free horse quest, fetch yourself a mark/return tome, and you might want to complete the ark/riverville bounty quests to not only become more familiar with the areas, but it will get you some nice money, enough to afford occasional myrad trips.
