GNU/Linux is a free and open source software operating system for computers. The operating system is a collection of the basic instructions that tell the electronic parts of the computer what to do and how to work. Free, Libre and open source software (FLOSS) means that everyone has the freedom to use it, see how it works, and change it.GNU/Linux is a collaborative effort between the GNU project, formed in 1983 to develop the GNU operating system and the development team of Linux, a kernel. Initially Linux was intended to develop into an operating system of its own, but these plans were shelved somewhere along the way. Linux is also used without GNU in embedded systems, mobile phones, and more often with BusyBox or other such embedded tools.

KDE4 is still under heavy development especially on Windows and Mac OS X, and Amarok 2 is available as a “Beta” version on those platforms. In the coming months, we expect to regularly release a series of bugfix versions in the 2.0 series. Work on features, both old and new, has also continued.

Recently, on the well-known Linux site , I found out about the free port of Amarok 1.4 on QT4. Honestly, since KDE 3.5 I have missed just such a player. With the release of the fourth branch of KDE, Amarok was completely ruined. In any case, I liked the old version more.
Here then the Clementine developers come to our aid , returning the lost and presenting it in a new form.

Total

We have a young developing project of a good music player with potential. At the moment, the player is an amateur. If you decide to put it as the main one like me - version 0.2 is the most stable so far, in version 0.3 I had errors with playback and did not play FLAC at all. That's why she is beta.

Download

You can download the player for any supported platform here:

Also, the player (version 0.2) is present in the repositories of various Linux distributions. Precisely there is in Gentoo (portage), Arch (Aur).
